It organizes meetings, talks, seminars and colloquia on Zola and Naturalism, as well as Nineteenth-century French and English writers, a Monthly Book Club and outings to Médan and other places of interests related to Zola and the period.

Once a year it publishes a journal, The Bulletin of the Emile Zola Society, a double issue sent to all Members of the Society, free of charge.

A small collection of books (in French and in English) and archives are available for consultation from the Secretary.
